3/ Training majors and levels

The faculty has 5 training majors in undergraduate level, 1 major which is Controlling teachnique and Automation program

Electrical & Electronic Engineering [Major code D520201] including:

Marine Electrical Engineering and Automation: Graduates from the program work aboard vessels as marine electrical engineers. They are able to design electrical distribution systems for a wide range of vessels, analyze electrical load balance to help in sizing of electrical plant, and design vessels automation systems including power management systems. Marine Electrical engineers provide for the generation and distribution of electricity throughout the ship for lighting, power, system controls and various other ship services. In addition, the graduates can also take a variety of jobs ashore relating to electrical and electronics industry.

Industrial Electrical Engineering Industrial Electrical Engineering graduates find employment opportunities in design and testing of transmitting and receiving equipment,  design of power distribution networks, design, testing and production of rotating machinery and transformers,  testing and maintenance of process control equipment, design and testing of hardware and software used in microprocessor-controlled systems. Within these areas, electrical engineers may work in laboratories where they design and test electronic systems or devices. Others may work in manufacturing plants where their major responsibility is the interfacing of electronic equipment with the rest of the plant.

Electronics Engineering and Telecommunications [Major code D520207], Electronics Engineering and Telecommunications program. Graduates can seek work as electronic repair and maintenance personnel, servicemen, system designers, systems testers, plant engineers, quality controllers, consultants, and installers. Manufacturers and users of a wide variety of electronic and communication systems may also provide employment. Potential employers for graduates of the Electronics Engineering and Telecommunications program include a wide variety of manufacturers and users of electronic equipment.

Controlling technique and Automation [Major code D520216], Industrial automation program. Graduates of the program will also find jobs in a number of specialty areas including digital circuits, microprocessors and their applications, electromagnetism, communications, control systems, digital image processing, and computer engineering.

4/ Scientific research and technology transfer activities:

Together with the development of the university, the faculty has achieved numerous successes in the scientific reseach activities such as:

• 02 individual award certificates of the Minister of Minitry of Transport for exellent scientific research achievements in term 1999 – 2004.

• 01 collective award certificate of the Minister of Minitry of Transport for exellent scientific research achievements in term 1999 – 2004.

• 03 individual award certificates of the Ministry of Science and Technology, The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations.

• 01 award certificate and Creative Labour Medal of The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations.

• 01 Creative Youth Medal of Center of The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

• 3rd Prize in VIFOTEC contest in 2004, 2006

Yearly, the faculty has also implemented many institutional and ministerial scientific research projects, participated in many contest such as Eureka, Vifotec, Robocon,...

Besides, the departmental scientific seminar named “Seminar about Automation and Communications” is held bianually to promote the scientific research activities, especially in the automation and communications sectors.
